We’re scheduled to dock in Monte Carlo from approximately 10:00am-9:00pm CET on Saturday, August 17th! In addition to excursions the Norwegian Cruise Line will be offering, explore on your own to one of sites! 

Casino Monte-Carlo
Distance from port – 850 m (1-minute walk, 5-minute drive)
Experience the iconic Casino of Monte Carlo and its richly decorated property Filled with breathtaking architecture, an absolute must-see! If you plan on visiting, please note day-time proper dress is suggested and entry fees may apply. 

Prince’s Palace of Monaco
Distance from port – 3.1 km (10-minute taxi)
Adults €8, Children €4.
Catch an amazing glimpse into the history of Europe and Monaco throughout the historic home, paired with breathtaking views and be sure to catch the changing of the guards! 

Saint Paul’s Anglican Church Monaco  
Distance from port – 2.6 km (10-minute taxi)
Free Admission 
Explore the stunning and well-maintained cathedral. At the end of the tour, visit the final resting place of Princess Grace and Prince Rainer.

Musee Oceanographi
Adults €16, Youth €12.
Distance from port – 1.5 km (22-minute taxi)
One of the oldest aquariums in the world, this museum is home to exploration artifacts by Prince Albert and Jacques-Yves Cousteau, as well as various aquarium habitats. 

Larvotto Beach

A lovely waterfront area and pebbled beach with a variety of nearby restaurants.  

Day Trips

With easily accessible trains and cabs, who says the fun must stay in Monte Carlo?! Check out these nearby cities and start planning an adventurous day trip! We recommended to book all travel accommodations and tickets in advance. Additionally, give yourself a buffer of time for travel to be back to the ship by guest all aboard, which is 8:30pm.

Gare de Monaco-Monte Carlo – Train Station

Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, France
Distance from port– 6.3 km (15-minute car ride, 4-minute train ride)
A hop, skip and a jump away, this city offers an array of fine French cuisine like Au Grand Inquistiteur, historic getaways such as the famous (and town wide name-worthy) Chateau de Roquebrune-Cap-Martin or take a stroll along the Promenade Le Corbusier. *Drive crosses a country border.

Eze, France
Distance from Monte Carlo – 9.1 km (15-minute car ride, 8-minute train ride)
Halfway between Monte Carlo and Nice, this quaint yet magnificent community is one of the most well-known sites along the French Riviera. Take a tour of the Villa & Jardins Ephrussi de Rothschild and catch the dancing fountains in the garden and stunning views. Take advantage of the late departure and enjoy a sunset dinner featuring local cuisine and a picturesque backdrop at Chateau Eza or Le Nid dAigle. *Drive crosses a country border.

Menton, Monaco
Distance from Monte Carlo – 9.2 km (25-minute car ride, 12-minute train ride)
With just a quick train ride you can visit the commune of Menton, home to relaxing beaches and the must-see Jardin Botanique Exotique, a peaceful botanical garden showcasing rare plants. Walk through the Cemetery of the Old Chateu filled with beautiful monuments sand stunning views. 

Saint Jean Cap Ferrat, France
Distance from Monte Carlo – 14.0 km (30-minute car ride, 12-minute train ride)
Stroll along the peninsula for the must-do Saint Jean-Cap-Ferrat Hike (beginner-intermediate), where you’ll journey through past a lighthouse, wander through the historic chapel and military cemetery, and be sure to bring a swimsuit for the swimming stops. The city also offers a wide arrange of local food such as Capitaine Cook near Paloma Beach or French gastronomy favorites such as La Table du Royal. *Drive crosses a country border.

Nice, France
Distance from Monte Carlo – 21.4 km (30-minute car ride*, 20-minute train ride)
Explore the bustling city of Nice, along the French Riviera. Wander through Promenade des Anglais, a beachfront boardwalk or through Old Town, a historic medieval village with intimate restaurants and open-air markets. If you’re up for a stroll, journey up the Castle Hill of Nice, offering panoramic views and a beautiful waterfall. *Drive has a toll road and crosses a country border.

Sanremo (San Remo), Italy

Journey through the breathtaking Italian mountain side of Valle Argentina, wander through the park of Villa Ormond, hike up the steep yet rewarding Santuario Madonna Della Costa or book a guided boat ride to explore beautiful hidden bays and soak up the sun.
